Product Poll

The 2009 Product Poll is now closed.

The ERA Product Poll is intended to establish, annually, the level of library interest in subscriptions to the resources offered on the Electronic Resources Australia Product List and help coordinate subscription details with vendors.

Who should respond?

Officers who are in a position to commit their library, or library consortium, to subscriptions are invited to indicate their interest through the ERA Product Polls.

How can my library register their interest?

Take a look at the product offers on our website. Free product trials are available by direct arrangement with the participating vendors.

Libraries wanting to initiate or renew subscriptions from 1 July 2009 need to:

  • Register their intention to join ERA via the online product poll by 15 April 2009.
  • Confirm their subscription decision by 27 April 2009.

You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Library or library consortia name;
  • Contact details;
  • National Union Catalogue (NUC) symbol if a member of Libraries Australia ;
  • National/State/Territory of library (ie Australian members of National & State Libraries Australasia);
  • Sector the library identifies with (ie Public, School, Academic, TAFE, Special or National/
    State/Territory);
  • Which resources from the Product List are of interest, and details of any existing subscription/s;
  • Maximum price you are willing to pay for products of interest;
  • Preferred authentication mechanism for remote access; and
  • Membership of any other Australian library purchasing consortia.

The extent of Australian library pick-up may influence the final ERA subscription price for any of the e-resources on the Product List. Poll results will give you an indication of the extent of library product pick-up per Australian library sector, State and Territory.
